Recently, British boxer Amir Khan visited Lyari. After the games for peace tournament took place, which Amir himself had organised, Amir promised to open gyms all over Pakistan.

The tournament took place with the Army winning the over all tournament with three gold medals, the Navy finished second with one gold medal and two silvers, while Pakistan Air force took third place with two silver medals.

The leading teams got trophies, the gold medalists were given a cash prize of Rs 15,000 each and the silver medalists got Rs 10,000 each.

Here he is speaking to the media;

We hope Amir Khan stays true to his word and opens boxing gyms all over Pakistan.

“I think we have the talent to produce boxing champions.” Khan said

He further said;

I’ll make the academy for all the boxers here. I have a fight in March and I hope everyone in Pakistan watches it. I’ll come back to Lyari after the fight.
