Longing for a break from the routine? Craving an adventure into the unknown?
Leaving home and your people to travel the world may sound like an overwhelming idea to many but it is the most exciting prospect for many young souls out there.
The harsh reality is that travelling is EXPENSIVE! But you can always save up to fulfill your desires. Here is what you should be doing to take the plunge:
1. Take inventory
Keep a close check on where you are spending and how much you are spending. It will help you determine where you can cut back.

2. Set up your savings
Save up in a “Savings account” and not the one you usually use. What works for me is, I don’t get a cheque book or any kind of card for this account unless I am actually travelling.
3. Hang out with friends, but make it cheap
Saving doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy your social life. You just have to find a cheaper way of doing the things you enjoy.
4. Prioritise
Prioritise what you need over what you want before the trip. This will help you save more. Prioritise what you love over what you like during the trip. This will help you keep a check on your expenditure.
Girls, that may mean you cut-back on the shopping trips!

5. Set up reminders
Keep reminding yourself that the trip to Paris is more important than a designer dress. Keep reminding yourself that traveling will change your life, literally. Change your desktop picture to this:

And then go explore!!
6. Choose wisely
If your goal is to travel on a small budget, set your sights on more-affordable destinations. Think about what types of things you want to see and do, how long you want to travel, and what you’re comfortable spending to find your sweet spot.

7. Be specific
Be specific about the places you want to visit and the amount of money you need to do just that.

8. Be patient
You can’t wake up one morning and grab your bag, pack and travel. It will take time to save, plan and finally travel. So, be patient.
