A 100-year-old British woman, Bo Gilbert, has made history by becoming the oldest model to feature in Vogue.
Harvey Nichols is breaking with the conventions of the youth-obsessed fashion industry running an ad featuring a 100-year old model. The centenarian, from Birmingham, has been chosen to mark the iconic magazine’s 100th anniversary in a new Harvey Nichols campaign.
In a video accompanying the shoot, Gilbert admits that she’s always loved dressing well; however, it was never for anyone else. “I just suit myself,” she says. “I certainly don’t dress up for boys.”
The ad was shot by Phil Poynter, who founded Dazed and Confused with Jefferson Hack and Rankin.
